What’s
Your Play?
Basketball brings us together. The competition, the friendships, the lessons, and the experiences that stay with us long after the game.
Every young athlete brings a different perspective, and we want to hear yours.
Imagine MADE For All had $10,000 to invest in your idea. What would you do to help more kids experience basketball? What's your play?
Maybe you'd open more gym time for kids who need a place to play, create a youth-led podcast that helps players and families navigate grassroots basketball, or bring a MADE clinic to a new community.
Or maybe you've got an idea no one's thought of yet.
We're looking for ideas that could make a difference through MADE. How many kids could your idea help? Could it grow beyond the first $10,000?
Share your idea in a video of up to 60 seconds.
We'll select ten athletes to join MADE NEXT M01, our inaugural cohort of the MADE For All Philanthropy & Entrepreneurship Lab.
Think of it as a youth-led incubator where you'll work with other athletes to develop ideas, learn about philanthropy and entrepreneurship, and explore how an initial investment could create an even bigger impact.
Together, you'll recommend how MADE For All should invest $10,000 through the MADE ecosystem.
This isn't a contest to win $10,000. It's an opportunity to help decide what we can make possible with it.
Help another young athlete access opportunities that can make a difference.
JOIN THE GRASSROOTS GIVING CIRCLE
Grassroots basketball is built by families, coaches and people who know the game. We think giving can work the same way.
Supporters who contribute $1,000 or more annually to a participating MADE For All Access Fund can join its Grassroots Giving Circle.
Giving Circle members receive regular updates and invitations to periodic conversations about the needs we’re seeing, the impact of the fund and what we could make possible next.
For the Brooklyn Gym Access Fund, that could mean expanding access to training and camps, reaching more young athletes, or testing ideas identified by families and the gym community, including a potential after-school homework help pilot.
Join the Brooklyn Grassroots Giving Circle with an annual gift of $1,000+ or approximately $84/month.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Access Funds turn a specific barrier into a fundable solution.
MADE For All is creating dedicated funds around the barriers that can keep young athletes from participating, developing, or taking advantage of an opportunity.
Donors can contribute to an existing fund, help fully fund one, or work with MADE For All to create a fund around an issue that matters to them.
Access Funds may support needs such as:
Gym and training access locally or nationally
Camps and event participation
Equipment and player development
Getting more girls in the game
Family support for travel to tournaments
Other barriers identified through our grassroots basketball community
Each fund has a defined purpose, funding goal, guidelines and plan for measuring and sharing impact.
-
The Brooklyn-specific MADE Hoops x HMBL Access Fund is our first fund.
Our goal is to raise $50,000 to help young athletes access MADE Hoops x HMBL training, camps and development opportunities when cost would otherwise stand in the way.
The fund's first priority is expanding access to these opportunities. As it grows, it may also help us test additional ways the gym can support young athletes and families.
This first fund allows us to put the Access Fund model into action, learn from the athletes and families we serve and build toward larger Access Funds in 2027.
-
Each Access Fund is created around a specific barrier and may have its own eligibility, application and review process.
Applications are reviewed through MADE For All based on the purpose and guidelines of the fund. For the Brooklyn Gym Access Fund, support is intended for young athletes who need financial assistance to access eligible MADE Hoops x HMBL opportunities.
MADE For All maintains final responsibility for all funding decisions.
-
A Grassroots Giving Circle brings supporters closer to the Access Fund they help fund. Supporters who contribute $1,000 or more annually to a participating Access Fund receive regular updates and invitations to periodic Giving Circle conversations about the needs we're seeing, the impact of the fund and what we could make possible next.
Giving Circle members provide perspective and input, while MADE For All maintains final discretion over all charitable distributions and protects family privacy.
